Just like they do every year the socially aware crowd in Peter’s old university get to organise a marathon in aid of local charities; these marathons are very successful and with sponsorships they raise a lot of money for the local hospice, care homes and lots more causes, some worthy, some patronising, some a complete waste of money, but it makes those that get involved feel good - it looks good on your CV that you have been seen raising money for the less fortunate.
 
This year to honour Peter and Olga’s involvement in helping to clean up the drugs epidemic in the university they have decided that the marathon will take place across the wonderful moorland and scenery of Widdling Land, including the two tiny villages, Upper Widdling in the Mire and Lower Widdling in the Mire, and of course Peter’s new sheep farm of which he is justly proud. Of course not all the residents of Widdling land are in favour of having their fiercely kept privacy invaded.
